KD6MTU BBS Packet News

Update 05-18-09

Still working on the sysytem. I have 3 full time Netrom Nodes connected through a AXIP/Internet Tunnel and any wheres from 5 to 85 Nodes on a temp basis (they come and go)... Packet Mail standard AX.25 and TCP/IP POP3-SMTP mail also for the Amateur Radio 44.X.X.X Network. Bulletins are also flowing in from around the world now and is fun to read the Bull's when I have free time (free time hihi).

Update 04-25-09

As of saturday April 25th the BBS is now on SouthFork Mountain about 7 miles west of Redding. The Telnet Address has changed to 208.74.106.137 as also the direct www address. The radio's 2M output has been turned down to about 7 watts as we test for interference to existing repeater systems on the same site.

Update 04-06-09

The conversion took place, and all is well. The BBS is now link with the rest of the amateur packet community through AXIP  for the 44.0.0.0 net assigned hams. I am now working on getting ham mail and bullentins flowing around the world to this system. I hope to have this system on Southfork Mt. in about a month (end of May ??? hihi)  There is a temp tcp/ip address being used for now. You can telnet to 208.74.105.83 and log in  to the BBS from the internet side.

Updated 01-13-09

Ok another change coming.  We will be moving to the 70 cm band. Unless we find there is interference to us or to someone else it will be "433.43 TCP/IP 9600 baud"

Updated 01-08-09

This system now has running:

A Conver Server, Mail Server, Web Server, Ftp Server. Can be accessed through a 2 meter radio. Linux (CentOS 5.2) and Jnos 2.0  makes this all possible. This is located at KD6MTU's home right now but will soon be located at South Fork Mt. 3400 Ft. in the Com-Pair Services Tower Site located 7.7 miles west of Redding, Ca..

Linux Ax.25 with TCP/IP enabled and AGW will  operate with this system. or just a plain old packet system.

Info on how to use this packet system will be posted soon !!!!
